Ha, a blog....we go figure. As artists most of us beginners rely on photographs or accidental combinations of what we see to dictate our compositions; however, composition is a critical part of art - yet little written on the subject. Sure there are books that talk about the rule of thirds, line, rythm, repetition, dominance...and other key components. Trouble is - the thought we have to give to composition stalls the creative drive to be emotionally motivated to paint a thing... We need to know the compositional points as 2nd nature and practice them in ways so that we have the rules in our sub-consious to blend with our emotional attraction to a new subject.
